If you have two tumblrs, the “main” one is the one which “follows” people, even if it’s not the one you reblog things with. Maybe that is the answer to this particular puzzle. (Also, when people follow your “second” blog, they won’t know if you follow back, because it will be your “main” blog which follows them.)
